Hilton Head, South Carolina - Family Vacation

Blake said it best when he said, "this was the most relaxing vacation we have been on in a long time." It was amazing to be able to actually say those words, having the kids with us, on a seven day trip to the east coast... the very first time, to that part of the country, for all four of us.
The kids have the traveling thing down.
We flew to Charleston, SC and then rented a car to drive the eighty miles to Hilton Head Island. The drive took slightly over two hours due to the low speed limits and the crazy traffic getting over the bridge onto the HH Island mid-afternoon on Saturday.
Blake's best friend from high school, another family and us rented a spectacular house on the Island. 29 Mallard Street in North Forest Beach. It was just two houses away from the gorgeous beaches. Addie is standing in front our our house and you can see the short walk to the beach behind her...
Every day, for seven days, we would load up our stuff and go and enjoy the clean (sea-weed clear) South Carolina beaches.
The beach, that first late afternoon, was incredible. You entered it with tall stalks in the small amount of dunes. We hit it at low tide so it was over 100 yards of perfectly smooth, compact sand.

A couple of nights, all fourteen of us would return at night, to catch crabs.
That first night, we hit cute good place with live music and a great staff called The Backyard, where Blake and I had the best shrimp burgers!!
